Body Acceptance Project: Who Says Plus Size Women Can’t Be Bold & Sexy In Perfume Ads?

Who Says Plus Size Women Can’t Be Bold & Sexy In Perfume Ads?

When you see perfume ads, you seldom see plus size women being desired and exuding sexuality but thanks to one plus size blogger, that’s about to change.

After bringing us the “Attractive and Fat” campaign, Jes Baker of The Militant Baker is in the news again for creating another project that sparks the conversation of size acceptance. In the past she’s pushed the envelope by creating mock campaigns that at first glance, remind you of your favorite product ad.

The new “Lustworthy” project is a photo series brought to you by Jes and photographer Liora. The goal was to produce a series of “advertisements” that challenged what the media deemed as acceptable body types. The theme of the shoot was centered around sensuality and by using unconventional body parings, the ladies have made quite a statement.

Not only does “Lustworthy” make us examine the way we view beauty in each other, but it makes us examine the way we beauty in ourselves. On her website, Jess shared:

Never in our culture do we see sexy photo shoots that pair nontraditional bodies with traditionally attractive models. It’s socially acceptable for same to be paired with same, but never are the different types of bodies positively mixed in the world of advertisement.

Good for Jes and Liora! I can’t wait to see their next project.
