In a recent interview with the face of Dolce & Gabanna, actress Scarlett Johansson shared her skincare secret with the world, apple cider vinegar. Maybe you’ve heard of it or maybe this is news to you but apple cider vinegar, (ACV) in its organic form has been known to have many health and beauty benefits when taken internally or applied externally. The following are its top 3 uses:
- Helps to reduce/prevent acne – combine 1 cup of water & 1 cup AVC in a plastic bottle and use morning and night with a cotton ball. Keep in mind that ACV is acidic so combining equal parts water is important.
- Weightloss – try a teaspoon a day combined with 8 oz water.
- Diabetes – The effect of vinegar on blood sugar levels is perhaps the best researched and the most promising of apple cider vinegar’s possible health benefits. Several studies have found that vinegar may help lower glucose levels. For instance, a 2007 study of 11 people with type 2 diabetes found that taking two tablespoons of apple cider vinegar before bed lowered glucose levels in the morning by 4%-6%.
