When I read that Jill Scott was going to appear alongside Paula Patton and Derek Luke in the film “Baggage Claim” I instantly became giddy with excitement. Then I read that she would play Gail Best, the best friend of Montana Moore played by Paula Patton, and my heart skipped a beat. Despite the difficulty some actresses face trying to secure roles in Hollywood, Scott has been pretty successful in obtaining steady work but it would be refreshing to see her as the main character in the upcoming romantic comedy.
Jill has definitely proved herself and secured her spot as an all around entertainer. She’s won three Grammys and she recently graced the small screen in Lifetime’s “Steel Magnolias.” In Tyler Perry’s “Why Did I Get Married”, she delivered a strong performance as Sheila, a betrayed wife who gets the last laugh.
I’ll definitely support this film when it hits theaters next year. Will you?
