Aretha Franklin Was Supposed To Open Game 5 Of The World Series Singing The National Anthem {VIDEO}

Detroit native Aretha Franklin was supposed to kick off game 5 of the World Series by singing the National Anthem on Monday Oct. 29th as the Detroit Tigers host the San Francisco Giants at Comerica Park.  Unfortunately, the Giants swept the Tigers in 4 games so we won’t hear her sing.  Last year, she opened Game 3 of the American League Championship Series as the Tigers hosted the Texas Rangers.

In honor of past National Anthem performances, here are some of the most memorable renditions of the National Anthem. *Warning* Some are good, some are bad.

Roseanne Barr, 1990

Whitney Houston, 1991

Christina Aguilera, 2011

Amber Riley, 2010

Destiny’s Child, 2006

Taylor Swift, 2008

Anita Baker

Were you feeling these renditions? Do you have a favorite?
