On February 11,2012 Whitney Houston died with the 2012 Grammy Awards less than 24 hours away. Of course the show’s producers put together a last minute tribute but Whitney was more than just a singer, she was the Queen of Pop and perhaps the best selling artist of our time so she definitely deserves a proper send off from her peers and those she inspired.
On October 12, 2012 Whitney Houston received a tribute fit for a Queen. Some of Whitney’s most famous fans (Usher, Britney Spears & Jennifer Hudson) gave Whitney the proper send off at the Grammy produced tribute, “We Will Always Love You: A Grammy Salute to Whitney Houston.”
The tribute took place at the Nokia Theatre in Los Angeles and will air on CBS on November 13th. It features today’s hottest stars performing Whitney Houston classics and commemorating her life.
Dressed in 80′s inspired attire Jennifer Hudson performed a medley of some of my favorite Whitney songs including “I’m Every Woman,” “How Will I Know” and “I Wanna Dance With Somebody”. Usher performed “I Believe in You and Me” and commented during his performance, “Houston possessed one of the greatest voices we have heard in this lifetime.”
X-Factor judge Britney Spears took the stage looking better than ever and shared her love for Whitney with the audience. Other speakers of the evening included Halle Berry, LL Cool J and Taraji P. Henson.
What is your favorite Whitney Houston song? Are you going to tune into CBS on November 13th?

Whitney Houston, your legacy will stays in our heart. We thank you for all the great songs from you
One of my favorite (I have many) Whitney Houston tunes is Just The Lonely Talking Again from her second cd “Whitney”. I will be tuning in to see how this next generation of music stars does her music justice.
I am most certainly *not* going to watch this show. I have disliked Whitney Houston since 1986 and wish people would stop holding her up like some angel.
