Top 5 Plus Size Video Vixens

Top 5 Plus Size Video Vixens: After seeing Suzette Banzo’s blog post, Not Your Average Video Vixen, my mind began to wander. Although most Video Vixen’s are considered curvy, you and I both know that traditional plus size women aren’t typically cast in videos to be the Vixen or the main character but the following plus size models not only represent during photo shoots but they were standout models in the following music videos.

Tricia Campbell & Jeannie Ferguson in Mike Epps “Big Girls” Video

Tricia Campbell and Jeannie Ferguson are definitely not the only plus size women in Mike Epps video but they are two plus size models that are doing some pretty amazing things.

Tricia has graced the pages of Essence Magazine, Glamour magazine, Sister 2 Sister magazine, Vibe Magazine, Plus Model Magazine, Almost Famous Magazine, VICE MAGAZINE,Figure Magazine and multiple fashion blogs as well as in fashion shows.

Jeannie  is a well known petite plus size model who has modeled for BET’s Rip The Runway among other fashion shows.  She’s also graced the pages of BelleNOIR Magazine, Vice Magazine and Plus Model Magazine among other publications.  In addition to modeling, Jeannie is half of the burgeoning Junior Plus fashion house, Big Girls United (BGU).

Suzette Banzo in Little Anchor’s “Lady Tennessee” Video

Suzette is a Queens, NY native.  She has participated in television segments for Dr. Oz, Good Day New York among others.  She’s also modeled for a number of designers including Igigi and Kiyonna.  In addition to modeling, Suzette is an actress and as the features writer for PLUS Model Magazine, she has interviewed Whitney Thompson, America’s Next Top Model winner; Gabi Greg, Fashion Stylist and MTV Twitter Jockey; Jess Weiner, Actionist; among others.

London Charles & Plus Size Extras in Lil’ Wayne’s “Lollipop” Video

London Charles a.k.a. Deelishis isn’t your typical plus sized model but she isn’t your typical straight sized model either; she’s curvier than most video vixens. She also isn’t the only plus size woman in Lil’ Wayne’s video either, but she is the most famous curvy girl featured.  This Detroit, MI native caught our attention after appearing on the 2nd season of VH1’s Flavor of Love, which she went on to win.  After appearing on Flavor of Love, she’s been featured in a number music videos, interviews and she launched a denim line, D-Cut Denim, for curvier women.

Mia Amber Davis-Yard in Red Man’s “Def Jammable” Video

Mia Amber Davis-Yard starred in Red Man’s video for Def Jammable, the lead single from his 2010 album Reggie.  Before starring in the video, Mia made history as a plus size stand out  in 2000’s cult classic, Road Trip.  She also modeled in BET’s Rip The Runway and for a number of fashion campaigns including Ashley Stewart and Monif C. Plus Sizes.  Mia’s untimely death in 2011 shocked the world and hit the plus size community hard but she will forever be known as a woman who paved the way for what many view as impossible.
