Olympic Bound Weigtlifter Heads To London In Designer Threads

With everyone’s attention on the 2012 Olympic games in London, one Olympian that’s commanding the attention of plus size women everywhere is weightlifter Sarah Robles. Standing at 5 ft. 10 in. and weighing a healthy 275 pounds, Sarah is on a mission to change the way plus sized women and girls view themselves.

Last month, Santa Cruz, Calif.-based fashion designer Jill Alexander, who specializes in clothing for curvy women, heard about Robles’ plight. The two women recently met up and Alexander gave the Olympic-bound athlete a collection of dresses, skirts and tops to take with her to London for interviews and press events.
