On December 30, Detroit will close out 2011 with a bang as Global Pictures Studios and JR Galactic Casting roll out the red carpet for the 2nd Annual Michigan Film Gala “Return of Motown” Pre-New Year’s Eve celebration at the beautiful Charles H. Wright Museum of African American History.
In addition to a power-packed lineup of panels and networking sessions, the Gala will pay homage to the Motown legacy and will be hosted by WJLB’s Jazzy T and comedian Mike Bonner. Celebrity panelists include Detroit’s own Motown legend, Martha Reeves (Martha Reeves and the Vandellas), Lemuel Plummer (Executive Producer B.E.T’s Vindicated, Famous and Brandy: On My Own), Kern Brantley (Music Director for Lady Gaga and Beyonce), Arvel Jones (Marvel Comics Illustrator), Brian Wright (Producer for Big Sean), Nicole Olivas Jenkins (Original Programming at BET Networks), Nathaniel McClure (Game Design Producer for Call of Duty 3), Katerina Bocci (Fashion Couture Designer), Lawrence Lamont Jenkins (CornerStore), Greg Russell (Movie Show Plus), Vanessa Lynn (Boss Lady), with a special guest appearance by Brandon T. Jackson (Big Mommas: Like Father Like Son, Percy Jackson & the Olympians: Lightning Thief) and a special performance by Rachel Kapp from the Rick James Band.
Tickets for the 2nd Annual Michigan Film Gala “Return of Motown” Pre-New Year’s Eve Bash are now available for purchase at www.mfilmgala.com and God’s World in Detroit. V.I.P tickets are $75 in advance and include entry to the red carpet ceremony at 7pm, a strolling dinner, panel discussions, celebrity meet and greet and the Gala after-party. General admission tickets are $50 in advance and includes the panel discussions and entry to the Gala after-party which begins at 10pm. The Charles H. Wright Museum is located at 315 E. Warren in Detroit.
