Chelsea Clinton (daughter of former President Bill Clinton and Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton) is stepping out of the shadows of her parents and making a name for herself.
The 31 year old was recently hired as a full time special correspondent for NBC News. According to The Huffington Post, she will work on stories that NBC will use as part of its “Making A Difference” series, which will run on “NBC Nightly News”. The series will shine a much deserved spotlight on people who volunteer their time in their community.
Her academic and nonprofit work has prepared her for this position. Chelsea hopes her new position at NBC News will help her live her grandmother’s adage which is “Life is not about what happens to you, but about what you do with what happens to you” , she says.
Chelsea Clinton isn’t the first daughter of a president to be hired by NBC News. Jenna Bush Hager, daughter of former President George W. Bush works as a correspondent for NBC’s “Today” Show.
