Being held on September 10, 2011 at the Detroit Historical Museum in downtown Detroit, Michigan, The International Fuller Woman Expo features products, services and seminars that give plus size women a day of education, empowerment and enjoyment. As the largest international consumer event for plus size women, the Expo provides an excellent opportunity for businesses and organizations to target their core audience as well as reinforce their company’s image within the plus size community.
During the Curves In Motion Fashion Showcase, the Expo will present the Mia Amber Davis Award of Excellence. This aspect of the event pays tribute to 1 deserving trailblazer that exemplifies the grace, dignity and selflessness displayed by the late Mia Amber Davis in the plus community.
The 2011 recipient of the Mia Amber Davis Award of Excellence is Valery Amador, Co-founder and CEO of Venus Imaging Education (V.I.E.), LLC. Since 1998, Valery Amador and V.I.E. have built online portals and virtual magazines that help to educate, inspire and celebrate women and teens. Their online collection includes Amaze, Bass Musician, PLUS and Venus Diva Magazines.
Mrs. Amador’s efforts have changed the way we see ourselves and revolutionized how plus size women are viewed online. The words and images presented by V.I.E. are intended to: Inform, Educate, Inspire, Connect and Celebrate the niche audience to which they belong.
