“The best thing a woman can wear is confidence”. We’ve all heard this before. But what are you supposed to do, go into your closet, pick out “confidence”, put it on and magically you’re self-assured? Well actually…yes. We all have that piece of clothing or even an accessory that makes us feel confident, empowered, and adds a special strut to our walk. What we need to work on is making sure that this isn’t just one piece of clothing but all of our clothing! There should be nothing in your wardrobe that doesn’t make you feel beautiful, sexy, and ready to take on the world…or more realistically, your work day. There should never be a day that you wake up and decide to wear something that isn’t quite poised. So what types of clothing specifically add an extra notch to our confidence meter? Let’s explore!
Pumps
Now if you’re like me, wearing high heels to work just isn’t in the cards. I commute to work and do a lot of walking. There isn’t a Dr. Scholls’ in existence that will make a pair of heels feel like my New Balances. However, I do wear them occasionally because sometimes a pair of flats just won’t do my outfit any justice. Try wearing them at least once or twice a week to work and when wearing flats, look for pointy-toe flats or pairs that have a trendy design.
Sunglasses
Now I live a pretty normal life but once I put on my sunglasses, it’s like I’m transformed into another person…a celebrity, sashaying down the street with crowds of people clamoring to snap a picture. Now most of this scenario is in my head but the confidence I exude in my strut is undeniable. I know you divas feel the same way once you put on your hater-blockers! Make sure you check out Summer Sunglasses: Picking the Perfect Pair for Your Face to see what types of shades best fit your facial structure.
Make-up
Gwen Stefani never leaves home without her bright red lipstick — it has become her signature and I’m sure it’s something that makes her feel effortlessly confident (after all, red is the signature color for lipstick). Nicki Minaj (pink lipstick), Christina Aguilera (red lipstick), Kris Kardashian (smoky eye), Jennifer Lopez (bronzer/blush)…all of these women have signature make-up looks that you would be surprised not to see. They have found a look that works for them by accentuating their natural look and you can tell that they feel confident in their appearance. Wearing no make-up is absolutely fine too. Just make sure whatever the situation,YOU feel great!
Hair
Yes…hair. Let’s keep it real ladies! There have been times when you want to switch up your normal hair routine and try something a little different! I’ll be the first to admit that when I go to a lounge, I love to wear my long, curl half-wig. It’s something new and fresh, apart from what I usually wear and I find myself empowered to try a new look and rock it! Khloe Kardashian has stated that she puts in her hair extensions every morning and that’s great! Find what works for you and flaunt it! Try a new wig, add some extensions/tracks, and try new things! Some believe that wearing fake hair is..well..fake but I look at it has an opportunity to change things up. But please ladies, let’s make sure that the hair we wear is as close to our natural hair color as possible and please show your fake hair some real love!
I’d love to hear from you! What do you wear that automatically makes you feel empowered?

I love this!!!! Changing my hair up this weekend
