Ok, ladies, I know we have all felt this way when shopping for an event: “I hope no one is wearing my outfit at this party!” This is especially relevant to the plus-sized community since most divas shop at the same stores. I can tell you right now that most of my wardrobe comes from Torrid, Ashley Stewart and Old Navy. Well divas, let’s think outside of the box…way outside.
Recently, I was shopping online for an outfit for a party and it seemed that everyone I knew who was attending this soiree, were shopping at the same stores. So I did a google search for plus-size online stores and Google (being the awesome search engine that it is) guided me to online stores in the UK! For some reason, I never thought to order clothing internationally, but why not? I did a search of plus size fashions in the UK and here are my top 5!

1. Yours Clothing – www.yoursclothing.co.uk
Be still my beating heart! Yours Clothing is the “Torrid” of the UK. This store offers flirty and fun fashions to a younger crowd. I absolutely loved their biker jeggings, which offer a stonewashed, 80′s vibe to a current fashion trend! Their accessories are absolutely darling and a perfect addition to a plethora of ensemble chocies. They offer clothing, lingerie, footwear, accessories, and nightwear. So if you are a diva that loves Torrid but are tired of seeing others wear your clothes, check out Yours Clothing!
2. Fashion World – www.fashionworld.co.uk (Size 12-32)
This store sells everything from plus-size fashions to home goods and menswear too! They go up to a women’s size 32. This little number was the first to catch my eye. This would be a great website if you are looking for signature pieces or an ensemble for a special occassion. Right now, they have several maxi dresses on sale and offer comparable prices to Ashley Stewart or Lane Bryant. You can find desired clothing using several search filters such as: brand, occasion, newest fashions,etc. Enjoy!
3. Very – www.very.co.uk (Sizes 14-32)
More like Very awesome! This is an online department store, selling women and mens fashion and your typical department store items i.e. appliances, gifts and jewelry, home goods, etc. Although this isn’t a store geared for plus size women, they offer fabulous fashions for divas! This kaftan almost sent me into fashion coma! Their fashions are ideal for the younger to middle-aged women and their prices are pretty decent. Also, if you are so bold as to buy your wedding dress online, they offer very unique designs up to size 24.

4. Evans – www.evans.co.uk (Sizes 14-32)
I am somewhat familiar with Evans. I have perused their website a few times and they have fabulous finds. Evans in my opinnion is like a US version of Newport News: they sell everything a women needs in fashion but it’s targeted for plus-sized ladies and absolutley LOVE their tagline, Ahead of the Curve! Like most online stores, Evans allows you to shop by size, occassion, and category BUT you can also shop by looks! Right now they are offering several looks to shop by including: Indian Summer, Opium, Hippie Jet Set, and Pacific. All clothing under these looks, add to its corresponding theme but of course you are free to create your own inspired looks. A great website to shop or use to get inspired for creating your own personal looks.
5. Marisota – www.marisota.co.uk (Sizes 12-32)
Marisota is geared more to the seasoned fashionistas. Offering mature fashions and lots of fun and colorful designs, I fully recommend this website to our older divas. They offer clothing, lingerie, shapewear, health and beauty and even home goods. They also offer tailored looks which serve as great choices if you’re looking for officewear. This is a store that fabulously caters to the the stylish woman.
So peruse and see if you find something that tickles your fancy. However keep these things in mind when online shopping in the UK: the currency conversion, UK sizes are one size larger than U.S., and note the delivery time.
