I often tell people that you cannot compare the relationship that you have with others to the relationship that you have with your children. It is like comparing apples to oranges and if you think about it, it really is like comparing an orange to a cucumber. As a mother of five children, my love for my children is multi-dimensional and abundant.
All of you bring your own unique qualities to the table and I love you all unconditionally. You make me laugh, you make me cry, but you also make my heart feel warm and tingly. I have carried you all as close to my heart as I possibly could and you can not get any closer to a mother’s heart than in the womb. I have held you close to me as you started out in my womb until I have held you in my arms. I have felt the way you move, and I felt your touch even before you arrived to grace my life with love.
Even through the good and the bad times you were there and without “owning” you, you will always belong to me. As I watch you grow, I enjoy teaching you, guiding you and pointing you in the right direction. We may argue, yell, disagree and fight, but through all of that, my love for you will not change. You all are my rock, my foundation and you all have kept me going, even when I grew tired, felt weary or defeated.
This is my tribute to you, my children, Veronica, Dominick, Lamont, Asia Nee and James III.
I love you and nothing in the world can change that!
