Maple syrup season is in full swing (YES, there is a maple syrup season!); and New York City mixologist and cocktail consultant – Duane Fernandez, Jr. – has transferred this seasonal delight to the cocktail glass.
Setting trends on the NYC bar scene everyday; Duane’s most recent libation,available at D Bar in Chelsea, is the Maple Madness (Flor de Caña rum complemented by a dash of maple syrup and liquid smoke, making this cocktail strong, serious and just a little sweet)!
Maple Madness
2.5 oz. Flor de Caña 7 year rum
.5 oz. Maple Syrup
2 Dashes Liquid Smoke
Smoked Salt
Salt rim of small rocks glass.
Add Flor de Caña, maple syrup, and liquid smoke to shaker.
Strain over ice.
