It’s always fascinating to see which one of your favorite past and present celebrities will be on the new season of Dancing With The Stars. Since 2005 DWTS has either ignited the careers of stars, helped them shed a few pounds or simply exposed them for the two left feet they have. We all know someone who watches the stars dance their butts off (literally).
Usually I know who the stars are but depending on your age or your pop culture IQ, you may not know who is who on the current season, so consider this your DWTS breakdown.
Kirstie Alley, Hines Ward, Chris Jericho, Wendy Williams, Ralph Macchio, Romeo, “Psycho” Mike Catherwood, Sugar Ray Leonard, Kendra Wilkinson, Chelsea Kane
First up is Ralph Macchio. Daniel Son has grown up. You may or may not remember him for his role in The Karate Kid series (wax on, wax off). Before Jaden Smith had your kid’s rushing to the nearest theater to see him kick some karate butt, Daniel was the ultimate underdog. Other roles that he’s known for includes Billy Gambini in My Cousin Vinny, and Johnny Cade in The Outsiders.
Next is resident funny lady Kirstie Alley. In the late 80′s to early 90′s she played Rebecca Howe on the ever so popular television show Cheers. “Everyone knew her name” after she won an Emmy Award and a Golden Globe Award as the Outstanding Lead Actress in a Comedy Series in 1991. She is also known for her role in the Look Who’s Talking film series as Mollie Ubriacco.
Dancing With the Stars is not complete without a star from Disney and that’s where Chelsea Kane fits in. This actress and singer got her start in the 2007 film Bratz: The Movie. She is best known for her role as Stella Malone in the Disney Channel sitcom Jonas L.A.. She also appeared in the Disney Channel Original Movies, Minutemen and Starstruck. She also co-stars in the Disney Channel animated series, Fish Hooks.
Let us not forget the fancy footwork of this seasons football hunk, Hines Ward. Currently Hines plays the wide receiver position for the NFL’s Pittsburgh Steelers, where he is the longest-tenured current player on the team. He was voted MVP of Super Bowl XL.
Now if you’re a wrestling fan then you know who Chris Jericho is. He is best known for his time in the World Wrestling Federation/World Wrestling Entertainment (WWF/WWE), as well as in World Championship Wrestling (WCW)
Ah Romeo!! A few seasons ago his dad gave DWTS a try, now it’s Romeo Miller’s turn. This entertainer, actor, and basketball player is the son of entertainment mogul and entrepreneur Master P.
Hugh Hefner’s ex-girlfriend Kendra Wilkinson-Baskett is well known for her role on the E! reality television series The Girls Next Door, on which her life as one of Hugh Hefner’s three girlfriends was documented. Her own reality series, Kendra, debuted in June 2009.
Petra Nemcova is a Czech model, television host, author, and philanthropist. She is founder and chair of the Happy Hearts Fund. In December 2004, she was injured in Thailand by a tsunami resulting from the 2004 Indian Ocean earthquake; her then-fiancé, photographer Simon Atlee, was killed in the tsunami.
Sugar Ray Leonard is a retired professional boxer. If you grew up around guys or sports in the 80′s, you definitely know who Sugar Ray is. Heck every boxer in the 80′s had Sugar in their name but Leonard was the one that stood out.
My personal favorite, Wendy Williams is one of my many best friends in my head. Each day, millions of viewers tune in for a dose “girl-talk” as she hosts her own syndicated talk show, The Wendy Williams Show. Word on the street is that Wendy didn’t do so well tonight, but I’m still rooting for her.
Last is Mike Catherwood who is also known by his radio name Psycho Mike. He is an radio personality who is known primarily for his work at KROQ-FM on Kevin and Bean and most recently as the co-host of Loveline.

I had the pleasure of meeting her and working with her for one event years ago at the Robert Treat Hotel in Newark, NJ.
She is a powerhouse of a woman and I am so glad plus girls are repping!
P.S. I never got over my Ralph Macchio crush, he is still beautiful and perfect. Love him. LOL.
