Product Review: Prosilk Conditioner & Hair Polishing Serum

If you have naturally curly hair like mines then it is really important to use a good moisturizing conditioner to protect your hair, keep your hair frizz free, tangle free and meet your styling needs. I am not ashamed to say that I usually go through conditioners rather quickly when wearing my hair in its naturally curly state therefore I look for moisturizing conditioners that are cheap like Suave Naturals or VO5’s Moisture Milk.

When I first tried this product, the first thing that appealed to me was that it read “Daily Moisturizing Conditioner with Silk Proteins for All Hair Types” and since my hair loves moisturizing conditioners I thought, great let’s see how this works for my hair!

First Impression/Results

The conditioner had a very light citrus fresh scent and was very thick coming out but it did not have a lot of “slip” to it which I was looking for. In order to get the desired “slip” that I wanted I had to use more conditioner on my hair, about two hefty palm filled amounts and I remembered feeling very doubtful that this conditioner would do anything for my hair because it felt like my hair just soaked it up as I applied it.

To my surprise, after using Prosilk’s Conditioner only one time my hair was easier to untangle, felt stronger and looked shinier and healthier than before. I was very pleased with the results so I began to experiment after this.

Experiments – Curly to Straight

Curly Hair – For my Wash n’ Go’s I was able to leave some of this conditioner in my hair as a leave in and apply my normal style over it with the Hair Polishing Serum and my hair could not have thanked me enough! My curls popped and were bouncy and shiny every time. Since my hair felt stronger after each use, I was able to play around with braid outs, twist outs and other styles just by mixing some of the ProSilk conditioner in a spray bottle with some water and using a little of the serum. This combination produced such great results in my hair I didn’t have to keep doing Wash N’ Go’s and was able to extend the life of my curls up to 5 days at one point, playing with these styles; I was pleasantly surprised.

Straight/Flat Ironed Hair – To get my curly hair straight I used about a quarter size amount of the Hair Serum on freshly washed, airdried hair before and after flat ironing my hair to prevent frizz and heat damage. One thing that I really liked about Prosilk’s Hair Polisher is that it was not greasy and did not weigh my hair down. After flat ironing my hair, it felt so strong and shiny it looked like glass and you couldn’t even hardly see some of my split ends from previous heat damage. My hair looked and felt like I had gone to the salon and was really soft and bouncy. I was surprised that I didn’t even have to keep using the flat iron throughout the week to keep my hair looking so straight and silky smooth because it felt like my style was locked in! Prosilk Conditioner and Hair Polishing Serum are products that not only make your hair look and feel great but actually work for different hair textures, curly or straight. These hair products deliver results that last and your hair will thank you for it, I know mines does.
