Happy New Year Divas! I am so excited about this year and to kick 2011 off, I have some good news and, some even greater news for you (who needs bad news, we get enough of that). The good news is that I have the latest scoop on 2011 plus size fashion’s and trends; the greater news is, that 2011 fashions are HOT! This article is going to be a fashion GPS, on what to look out for in the spring and summer of 2011, and the trends that will compliment us as plus size divas. So lets buckle are seat belts and speed through the fashion world of 2011 spring and summer.
First stop on the list is the 1970’s, that’s right you heard me, the sexy bold 70’s are making its reappearance in the spring and summer 2011 line up (super excited my favorite decade). The looks that we are snagging from the 70’s are high waist belted pants, or pants with flare; the silk tie blouses with bell or bishop sleeves, and the layered look with turtle neck sweaters embellished with beaded necklaces, or vest. These looks are great for work or lunch meetings. The evening look should consist of fabrics that are vibrant and has a metallic look to them (disco is our inspiration). Ruffled neckline blouses under a tuxedo jacket paired with a knee length skirt or flared pants are good for those after hour dinners. Or my most favorite look of the 70’s the long flowing dresses with plunging necklines and beautiful prints are great for the night scene. Accessories included; large earrings, bracelets, and tons of necklaces (beaded). Purses and shoes are the finishing touches to any great look; short strap leather purses for the day, long strap leather purses by night. Shoes are platform, and boots are knee lengthen. Let’s not forget those Jacqueline Onassis inspired sunglasses.
Last season it was all about the Military look. Well, trends have changed, and now we are on to the Biker Girl look. This look is encouraging all thinks leather! Leather jackets with unlimited zippers and fun quilting designs. Don’t be afraid to shake things up and get a light caramel jacket or a trench inspired leather coat. Do the pretty girl rock in a leather knee length skirt, and if you are bold, leather paints (CAUTION: leather pants must have an appropriate fit, you don’t want to be a fashion, OH NO SHE DIDN’T!). With this look the sexy leather boot is great, paired with a colorful leather pattern clutch.
The 70’s and the Biker Girl looks are two of many looks that you must have in 2011. Here are some fashion trends to pick up along the way as well; stripes, sheer maxi dresses, wide leg pants, capri pants, tail hems ( longer in the back dresses), lace, and Jumpsuits. I will go into more details about these looks as the season progresses. Hopefully you are as excited as I am about 2011, and since you have a jump start on the fashion game, let’s show the world how plus size Diva’s work it!

This is my first time visiting the site and I have to say I like the site as well as this article. I’ve always been a fan of ’70′s fashion as well but one thing I don’t like is wide leg jeans. I was told and believe that wide leg jeans make plus size women look stumpy. But I guess it just depends on the woman.
I love this article! I love the 70′s so sexy and chic are the clothes of that era! As far as the Flare look! That style of jean actually look the best on me! But I’m 5’7 with long legs! I love flare jeans!
I just love the long sheer maxi dress look! I snagged a leopard print long sleeve one from H&M, I wore a thong style high wasted cincher underneath!! It was HAUTE! HAUTE! HAUTE! love the article.
