When going green teamwork is the key word here. Even if we are miles apart from other states many of us are connected in so many ways. It is time we all start giving something back in return to ‘mother‘ earth. A little here and there and our efforts will pay off.
You are probably thinking “I am only one person”. What can I do that can be so beneficial to this community? You, my curvy Goddess can lead by example. It’s like the old saying, “ Monkey see, Monday do”..
Start with your own home, and teaching your Green tips to your family and making sure they are sticking to the plan. Don’t have lights on if you aren’t going to be in that particular area. Get energy saving light bulbs, they make a huge difference. Turn the stereo off, even if the music is not playing most of them can stay on and use energy for no reason, get that unplugged.
Gather a barrel or two and put it in your yard or fire escape to catch rain water. That water can be used for watering your plants or even just cleaning your front porch.
Sunny days are always great so let the sun shine through your windows. Open them up in the day time to get plenty of natural light. Even during the winter days, you can have two layers of curtains the dark ones with a second layer of sheer. Use the sheer during the days to enjoy brighter rooms without turning on the lights.
Make sure you reuse & recycle your plastic at least twice. Make the most out of your containers. Dress warmly at home so you can keep your thermostat down low and not get a huge electric bill. Bring your own bags to the supermarket.
