Oprah Winfrey is voted the 3rd most admired woman of 2010. Who is number one and two?
As each year comes to a close, online websites and publications all over the world post their “Top Ten Lists of the Year”. DVD even joined the fun by posting our list of the top Curvy Moments of 2010.
The latest Gallup Poll featuring the most admired women of 2010 shows that entertainment/media personalities are not as admired as many may think. Politicians, first ladies and the ones who boost the careers of the politicians occupied most of the Top 10 spots.
Although Oprah Winfrey came in at #3 (behind Hilary Clinton & Sarah Palin), she has been on this list since 1997, teetering back & forth between numbers 2 and 3.
Below are the women who were voted the Top 10 Most admired women of 2010.
1) Hilary Clinton – 17 percent votes
2) Sarah Palin – 12 percent votes
3) Oprah Winfrey – 11 percent votes
4) Michelle Obama – 5 percent votes
5) Condoleeza Rice – 2 percent votes
6) Queen Elizabeth – 2 percent votes
7) Angelina Jolie – 1 percent votes
Margaret Thatcher – 1 percent votes
9) Aung San Suu Kyi – 1 percent votes
9) Laura Bush – 1 percent votes
9) Barbara Bush – 1 percent votes
This list is based on telephone interviews conducted with a random sample of 1,019 adults, aged 18 and older, living in the U.S., selected using random-digit-dial sampling.

Actually Oprah’s been in the top ten since 1988
This is amazing and it is just one more thing to add to her many accomplishments.
But when I look at ‘Oprah’ I don’t brand her with being a minority, a female in a man’s world. I just see her as a human being that had some hardships at an early age and over came all of that to become happy with herself, and in finding that happiness she became a huge success.
And yes I look up to her as well, I think many generations will for a very long time!!
