Brrrr… It is cold outside…. Dangerously cold! As we pile on layers of knits, sweaters, cashmeres, and wools- how do we do it and continue on doing it while keeping our knits and our looks top notch? Here are some tips for you to keep your knits in top shape!
Storing your knits in your closet require careful care. Mothballs used to be the resource to use. However and very happily so, there are new technologies and tools to keep your knits in tip top shape! Sachets and cedar balls are the way to keep it chic!
If your sweater or knit is lighter in its weight, hangers with rounder and wider shoulders hold the shape of your sweater and prevent that awful pointed peak from hanging your knits! The proper hanger also allows the knit to hang and drape properly! Are you using wire hangers? Change them out now!
Mind the wash of your knit, as accidentally putting wool int he dryer will have your sweater turn into an outfit for your dolls! Dry cleaners, Dryel, and hand-washing your knits are all ways for you to keep your knits clean,chic, and crisp!
Pilling. When your sweater shows those little balls, this pilling can get on your nerves! To thwart this, use a shaver for your knits! To minimize the pilling, look for higher grade cashmeres and wools! The higher the grade, the less likely the pilling- or the frequency, and the longer life of your knit!
