Meet Stephanie Sack, founder of Chicago based Vive La Femme and Kathryn Kerrigan Shoe Boutique’s. In business since 2002, Vive La Femme specializes in women’s clothing size 12-24. Kathryn Kerrigan Shoe Boutique has been in business since 2010 with a shoe selection ranging from sizes 9-13. Both boutiques can be found online at www.vivelafemme.com and www.kathrynkerrigan.com.

In your opinion, to be fashion forward this season, what are the one or two must-have trend pieces all women should have in their wardrobe?

I honestly do not pay that much attention to what is “on-trend” as touted by the magazines. To be fashion forward is to identify the silhouettes, colors, details, and accessories that authentically and vibrantly express who you are and how you see the world. By delving fearlessly into this person vision and manifesting it through curvaceous confidence, women can and do acheive a look that transcends trends and radiates STYLE!

What is one timeless piece all women must have in their wardrobe without fail?

It’s cliche’ and perhaps a bit overplayed, but a fabulous black dress is one of the most neutral yet versatile pieces any woman can wear with flair and and fabulousness.

Are there really any fashion no-no’s?

YES. Wearing clothes that do not fit properly is the common denominator of any fashion no-no. Be the size you are in the moment without apology or evasion.

What is your favorite piece of style advice and who did you learn it from?

“A girl should be two things: classy and fabulous.” — the peerless Chanel.

Tell us about an outfit that you own that makes you feel drop-dead-gorgeous.

A V-neck purple grecian dress from Kiyonna, a cropped denim jacket from Eunina in an antiqued wash, gold ballet flats from Kathryn Kerrigan, a pleated softy scarf in pale orchid from who-knows-where, an one-of-a kind chunky oversized ring in pink quartz and gold from Paoo, and gypsy-esque drop earrings gold and deep rose from Stella and Dot. I look great in long dresses because I am quite leggy, the rich colors are very complimentary to my coloring, the shoes feel like bunny sliippers, and the trio of accessories are proportioned perfectly to my frame and height!

Mary Quant, Betsey Johnson, Princess Grace, Coco Chanel, Debbie Harry, Liz Taylor, Joan Jett, Anita Pallenberg, Bebe Buell, Pamela Des Barres, Stevie Nicks, Lady Miss Kier, Nico, Jackie O…the list goes on!
