Whether NPR (National Public Radio) was justified in firing journalist Juan Williams is up for debate. On one hand, Williams exercising his freedom of speech by stating his opnion. On the other hand he was speaking on behalf of his employer who obviously didn’t feel the way he felt. Regardless of what our opinions are, there are a number of reasons an employee can be fired for and even if we don’t necessarily agree with the reasoning, unless you’re self employed the employer has the final say.
8 Ways To Get FIRED!
1. Stealing from the company: The biggest downfall in working for a company that has piles and piles of merchandise or office supplies is the temptation. Sure, there is a room where all supplies are kept. That doesn’t mean they’re waiting for you to take them whenever you want.

3. Not being a team player: If you’re having a bad day, leave it at home. No one wants to deal with you or your attitude. Try to be as pleasant as possible, even if you’re not feeling pleasant that day.
4. Having an office affair: It is never a good idea to have an affair with somebody in the office. And if it just so happens to be your superior, that’s a no-no for sure. Not only are you going to get fired, but you put somebody else in a trying situation as well.
5. No call, no show : This is probably the easiest way to receive a pink slip.
6. Failing or refusing to take a drug test: Some places just don’t want to gamble on their reputation. There is plenty of people who will replace you if you won’t pee in a cup. You’re better off just quitting if your doubtful about your ability to pass.
