An original collection of short stories initially published online via the Plus-Sized Fashion and Lifestyle magazine, Venus Divas, which has entertained many readers and plus-sized community. Ms. Strutzenberg, a firm supporter of positive body image and the plus-size community, wrote the initial story with only a plus-sized female audience in mind, yet to her great surprise, this short story has entertained and inspired men, women, youth, straight-size and plus-size alike. Inspired by her own life experiences, Gretchen wanted to tell stories from various points of view but with one common thread, appreciation and acceptance for who you are, and love yourself.
The initial story touches on the life and work situation of a young woman who gains acceptance by remaining positive and using her intelligence. The following four stories cover many aspects of life such as break-up’s, illness, tragedy, and aging, however without drawing too much of the characters, Gretchen allows the reader to immerse themselves in each story and character. Some see it from the plus-size angle while others see it as inspirational for their own circumstances. Sometimes the best way to gain or learn positive self-image or esteem is by seeing another accomplish this that you can relate to. These stories open this avenue to all.
