The mother of a 15 year old self-proclaimed sex addict and past guest of the Tyra Banks show is suing Warner Bros. Entertainment, Tyra Banks and executive producers of her talk show for $3 million for featuring Beverly McClendon’s child on television without consent.
Jewel Ciera Washington, 15, who claimed to be a sex addict responded to call for “sex addicts” to appear on the show. According to Washington’s mother, Beverly McClendon show producers reached Jewel on her cell phone and invited her to appear as a guest. It is alledged that this 15 year old child was flown to New York in November to appear on the show.
Beverly McClendon, a resident of Georgia, filed the complaint in an Atlanta federal court last week, after realizing her daughter went behind her back and flew to New York to appear on the show. The lawsuit opens up questions about the care of duty owed when producers of a TV program invite minors on air to speak about their sexual proclivity.
According to McClendon, there was no parental consent signed nor requested. In fact, McClendon claims to have no knowledge of her daughters trip, going as far as to file a police report during the time she was in New York because she thought her child was missing.
Is this Mother going too far?

I think the mother has the right to sue Tyra but not for that much money, not sure how much, but it is her child and she is only 15, for not having a parent consent is wrong.
So she needs 3 million because HER child was dishonest with her. I’m sure that they verified something with a parent. I can’t imagine a talk show being that careless. If the daughter was slick enough to get to NY without her mother knowing I’m sure she was able to get someone to sign the consent form on her parents behalf…This will settle out of court for a couple of hundred thousand. The mother is ridiculous for asking for so much.
ok is she upset cause her daughter lied and went to Hollywood and appeared on TV or that she went with out her? these people are professionals its more then likely the kid got a friend or someone else to sign the consent form with her mothers name. instead of going after tyra maybe she needs to be busting her Daughters butt. kids now a day get away with murder and the parents are lax . they give them anything they want and anything goes . this is what our world is coming to at least Tyra is trying to get people to look at it .what is her mother doing?Woman get a life and if you need that much money get a job , you know that,s that thing Tyra has that she does every Day .
