This Big Girl space also features a full service spa with decadent Mani Pedi combinations, facials, waxing, lashes and Big Girl inspired spa parties. Big Girl will also feature Princess Parties for the Little Big Girl in your life.
Five years ago Big Girl Cosmetics’ owner, Kiley Russell, sat in the audience of a legendary taping of the Oprah Show where Oprah gifted her audience a Pontiac G6. The gift took the nation by storm, but Russell had a larger plan for her blessed gift. Not needing a car at the time and looking for a way to live her life differently, Russell sold the car and used the profit to start the beauty empire, Big Girl Cosmetics. “This has been a phenomenal year for Big Girl Cosmetics. This is super exciting, hopefully I can drop by when I’m in Chicago this coming summer for my intern. (if I get one in Chicago).
I have been to Big Girl Cosmetics once. I think that the place is beautiful. But, I have gotten used to the massage chairs when I go in for a pedicure, which they didn’t have. Also, there are no “perks.” I like the hot paraffin massages that you get from other places which is included in your $40 price. Also, the water wasn’t hot enough for me. That is contributed to a bad hot water heater which was in the process of getting fixed but they could have given me a discount which they didn’t and I had pre-paid.
I loved that manicure. I got the no-chip manicure, which did last me the 14 days. The only thing I didn’t like about that is not having my hands and fingers soaked. They said it’s because it makes the nail enamel come up. But, for the price there has to be a better way. Also, there was no mani-pedi package. All in all, it was a nice environment, the staff and the owner were pleasant. But, I feel in order to compete with the “Big Dogs” they will have to makes some changes.
