This is the year of Gabourey Sidibe! Not only did the 27 year old plus size beauty receive rave reviews and an Oscar nomination for her breakout role in 2009′s Precious, she followed that success by landing a role in Showtime’s new series The Big C. She is also set to star in the upcoming film, Yelling To The Sky and let us not forget the phenomenal job she did as Guest Host of Saturday Night Live.
After being catapulted into super stardom, this charismatic actress landed many interviews and a couple of magazine covers (V Magazine and Ebony Magazine). No success story is complete without it’s fair share of controversy, but Sidibe has handled the media and the non-believers like a true champ.
October marks another well deserved milestone for the Academy Award-nominated actress as she is one of four stars chosen to grace the October issue of Elle magazine. Sidibe, The Hills star Lauren Conrad, Transformers actress Megan Fox and actress Amanda Seyfried were selected as part of the fashion magazine’s “favorite 25-somethings” in honor of Elle’s 25thanniversary.
The plus-sized Sidibe dons a green, jeweled Tadashi Shoji jersey cocktail dress on her cover and told the magazine about her own 25th birthday.
