It is said that 1 out of every 3 girls are plus size in the United Kingdom. Perhaps that’s why UK retailer, Evans with retail stores in New Zealand and Ireland, will prepare a clothing line geared to the plus size teens to be released later this year.
Evans has been trying to broaden their consumer base for sometime now. One of the avenues was to create “Beth Ditto for Evans” a line inspired by singer/songwriter Beth Ditto. They are in the process of creating the second line for her that is inspired by Beth’s style and free spirit.

I think this is a freat thing. I myself, as a larger teenager find it hard to find clothes that are ‘in’ right now that will actually fit, considering most stores don’t cater for people my size. So thank you Evans.
(And to people who think it’s wrong for this to happen because teens ‘shouldn’t’ be fat, then just get over yourself. You don’t know why they are that way, they could have medical reasons like I have or might be having issues in their lives, so please keep an open mind and don’t judge someone based on their clothes size, cos that just makes you an ass.)
You are so right Laura. I wish people had your insight when they too were teens!
