Pretty soon, if you’re a designer and you’re NOT catering to plus size women, you will be apart of the minority. After the announcement that London based retailer Marks & Spencer would cater to plus size children and the inclusion of more curvy friendly clothing at Saks Fifth Ave., it was announced that designer Marc Jacobs would soon release a clothing line for plus size women.
Early last week it was announced that Marc Jacobs and his business partner Robert Duffy were in negotiations with partners to enter the world of plus size fashion. Mr. Duffy tweeted; ‘We gotta do larger sizes. I’m with you. As soon as I get back to NY. I’m on it! It will take me about a year, but stay with us!
Marc Jacobs is no stranger to exploring new business opportunities. He has already branched out into other areas of the industry with Marc Jacobs Childrens Wear, Bark Jacobs dog accessories, and a launch of Book Marc, a book store, set to open soon.

OMG this is so exciting! That means they’ll need more plus size models and plus size women will have a better chance of becoming a model because there is more opportunities!! I’m so glad that people/designers are noticing that big women need nice trendy clothes too, and for you to not notice and accept it, you are one of the minorities. YAY for plus size women!
