Fashion Tips from CurveStyle Therapy Expert – Michele Weston

Things seem to be getting out of hand in the fashion vocabulary description world. Invented by stylists & writers lately is the word JEGGING. After a lifetime spent dueling with denim styles and finishes we women now have jeggings. These can be described as extremely skinny jeans that look like leggings and are also are worn like leggings (with a zipper and flat front pockets and also w/o an elastic waist BUT the elastic waist is better for SMOOTHNESS for those of us with a fuller mid-section) PLEASE NOTE: I don’t care that the brilliant styling team from TLC’s ‘What Not to Wear’ doesn’t like them much with elastic waists! BUT Try getting a smooth tummy area w/o the flat waistband with elastic!)
The jeggings trend definitely called to me for a trend test drive. Think about this: fashion editors and retailers each season try to design and re-invent styles in magazine layouts that work on SOME of us, but not all! We need to be our own personal stylist and get real with our trend choices.
One’s got to admit that in the beginning of this particular trend I was not a fan of the skinny jean, narrow style or the jegging either, but I’ve come to embrace them all. The challenge with these slim types of denim on our lower half is that they’re hard to put together for girls with curves. Jeggings truly can be tricky. You need to think about the finish and denim color: Ti- Dye and Whiskered styles may seem fun but if you are more hippy and with serious booty or thicker thru the thigh area – PASS THIS TREND PLS! & always choose a dark denim wash over a lighter denim – This is correct for all denim washes to lengthen our silhouettes!

Absolutely curvy women can wear Jeggings! Some of the best ones I’ve seen pulled off have been plus size. I am a big fan of the trend and hope it continues..
hey
i’m very curvy and been just so scared of wearing leggings. can u give me some tips on how to wear them, and with what? please
Hmm…I don’t know about jeggings. I feel like trying to fit my body to a trend rather than the other way around doesn’t do me any justice, you know? Meaning, they’re never going to look GREAT on me, the best I can hope for is that they might look acceptable. I’ve tried on probably thirty pairs of jeggings and every timeI think ‘Well, I could just wear a long top or mile-high heels’ but then I think ‘Why bother?’ They don’t look fabulous. And I prefer to look fabulous.
