Leading Plus Size Professional Woman Returns For Season 2

I am talking about Season 2 of “Drop Dead Diva” where the phenomenal actress Brooke Elliott plays the role of a “Jane” a plus-sized lawyer who was a skinny, blonde model (“Deb”) in a former life. Yes, you read that right, she died a blonde model and got a second chance at life as a lawyer. With her new body and life in Season 1, we saw her go through the struggles of getting to know and accept her body, embrace her inner geek as a super smart and savvy lawyer, and try to get a grip of some very interesting relationships with her former-life fiancée who is now her co-worker, her distant mom, quirky guardian angel, and her “Clueless- like” best friend. It all sounds strange, but the dynamic makes for a funny, clever, and entertaining show.

The show is about identity, it’s about self acceptance and it’s about women being able to feel beautiful at any size, Brooke told “Access” on the Atlanta “Drop Dead Diva” set. We’re sometimes conditioned to believe that beauty comes in a very specific package and the truth is that beauty is in every woman in every size.

I’m particularly proud of Lifetime for bringing Brooke Elliott – a talented and beautiful plus-sized woman back to TV for another season. I think it’s quite inspirational and can’t wait for the premiere of Season 2 coming up pretty soon on Sunday, June 6th. What I’m really looking forward to is seeing her come back with a fresh outlook on life which is perfect timing as we too celebrate a new season – summer! And not only is Jane coming back with more style, look at her in that cute pink trench coat! but apparently she’s back with a husband?!? *Insert squeal here* So curious to see how this plays out.

I’ll be drawing inspiration from the episodes to share with you some of her looks and even a few tips on being a successful curvy professional woman as well. Only time will tell.
