Between blogger Garance Dore’s comments regarding plus size women and French Elle’s curvier cover model, the plus size media frenzy continues. Whether they’re in support of plus size women or not, the heated debate of plus size women in fashion is a hot topic.
The most recent alienation of plus size women came from Fox and ABC’s refusal to show a new Lane Bryant lingerie ad for their Cacique line. Although Fox has now agreed to show the ad, ABC hasn’t changed their mind so here is the commercial that has television execs on the wrong side of right.
Update: ABC has responded to the allegations that they refused to air the LaneBryant Lingerie commercial stating:
Their statements are not true. The ad was accepted. Lane Bryant was treated absolutely no differently than any advertiser for the same product. We were willing to accommodate them, but they chose to seek publicity instead.
What do you think?

That’s ridiculous that they won’t show that ad! There’s nothing we haven’t seen before…..I’ve seen more sexually explicit material from a body wash commercial for god’s sake.
Thickness and Curvaciousness for LIFE!!! Let them HATE its makes us stronger!!
What a bunch of idiots. I see absolutely nothing wrong with that ad. It is the same kind of thing we see in Victoria’s Secret ads all the time, maybe even milder. The model’s gorgeous, the lingerie is gorgeous…anyone know how I can get in touch with her so I can propose?
From what I understand the issue was the ‘racy-ness’ of the commercial not the size…however, i’d like to know if they air any victoria’s secret commercials during Dancing with the Stars (the show LB was trying to get it aired during).
