For many years I’ve secretly wanted to ride on a motorcycle. Anyone who knows me personally is very well aware that I am a square when it comes to adventure. But when I close my eyes and think of the thrill people get when riding on a motorcycle, I can only imagine how empowering it must be. In honor of Harley Davidson’s 2nd Annual Women’s Rider Month, I’ve decided to research the many reasons why women make the decision to grab life by the handlebars.
- The sense of accomplishment and confidence a woman feels is liberating.
- The bond you share with other women bikers when you see each other on the road.
- Becoming the master of your own destiny and tackling the open road and the wind.
- The freedom you feel when riding down the highway while being adventurous.
- Some people feel that riding a bike can build your confidence.
Whatever the reason, it seems like women who ride motorcycles are some badasses (that’s a good thing) that won’t let fear, a male dominated hobby or inexperience stop them from living their lives. For that I admire them.
