A celebrity with a fashion line is almost as popular as non celebrities getting their own reality show. With Selena Gomez working with K mart to launch her line and Nicole Richie launching multiple lines, celebrities are stepping their entrepreneurial game up. Unfortunately, they are leaving plus size women out. Nothing against Macy Gray and her “Humps”, but we need variety. I’ve made a list of five celebrities with curves that should think about entering the world of plus size fashion.Jennifer Hudson- Before winning a Grammy and an Oscar, Jennifer lived a life of normalcy (well not quite) but you get the idea. When she was on American Idol she was often criticized for colorful outfits and big hair, but that has changed. Now designers dream of dressing her and her fans can’t wait to see what she’s wearing which makes her the perfect candidate to launch her very own clothing line.
Kirstie Alley-Despite making it publicly known that she hates her fat self, she sure is racking in enough money to supplement the income she hasn’t received in years from acting. If she started a plus size fashion line, maybe she would realize it’s not that bad being plus size after all.
Queen Latifah-I know she had a line years ago called Curvation (separate from the bras) and if you were lucky enough to see some of her pieces, you may remember how hot they were. Her appeal is homegirlish and her style is impeccable. If any one person needs to have their own clothing line it’s the Queen.
Oprah Winfrey-Magazines, radio and television…..she’s conquered it all, except clothing. Many women love her style and she always looks so polished. Why not add “clothing designer” to her long list of titles and make a little pocket change in the process.
Christina Hendricks-If anyone can pull off a straight/plus size line it’s Christina Hendricks. All women (size 2-32) adore her curves and I’m sure men do too, but that’s not the point. When she’s on the red carpet she comes across sultry yet demure. A clothing line with those qualities would go over well with most women.
Who would you like to see with their own fashion line?
