I’m still in the midst of Bridal Fashion Week and loving every minute of it. Still I wanted to take time out to write about eco-conscious weddings. From the choice of food to the invitations, more brides and grooms are doing what they can to green their weddings.
So if you are a bride to be and you want to do the same, designer Adele Wechsler and Aveda have partnered to co-host regional bridal events during the months of April, May and June at participating Aveda salons across the country. These events are unique because brides to be and their guests will be able to get tips from Aveda experts on about hair, natural skin care products and wedding day make up. Brides-to-be will have the opportunity to preview Adele’s latest gown designs.
I had the opportunity to meet Ms. Wechsler and she is one of the loveliest people I’ve ever met. Her deep commitment and passion to better the world’s environment is evident when you meet her and you can see it in her amazing Eco Couture collection, that features gowns made with certified organic Hemp and silk, vegetable dyes, remnant fabrics and lace (nothing goes to waste) and her line is produced in accordance with Fair Trade Labor in Toronto, Canada.
Moreover guests will be able to meet local eco –friendly vendors such as bakeries, caterers, florists and more. There will be prizes at each event, even a chance to win an Adele Wechsler veil or headpiece. Brides may also enter to win national grand prizes including: an Adele Wechsler Eco Couture wedding gown, or a honeymoon vacation at the Hamanasi Adventure and Dive Resort, an eco-friendly destination hotel in Belize.
I had the privilege of seeing Adele’s designs, which were romantic yet modern, elegant, ethereal and best of all, can be customized to fit your curves while accentuating your style and helping the planet. If you’d like to preview her designs and get more information on when Adele and Aveda’s green events will be in your area, you can visit www.adelewechsler.com or www.aveda.com.
It’s nice to know that while you’re taking the big step into marriage, you’re doing your part to help the environment, which in the long run is an investment in everyone’s future. What could be better?
