If you’re craving a Cuban sandwich, this should satisfy your craving! They are usually made with roast pork, ham, Swiss cheese, thin sliced pickles and mustard, then pressed with a sandwich press or a panini grill until everything is hot and the cheese is melted. Have one of these for lunch or dinner and enjoy!!
Turkey Cuban Sandwich
Makes 4 Sandwiches
Ingredients:
4 small French bread loaves
4 Tbsp butter
1 pound shaved turkey
8 pieces of cooked turkey bacon
1/2 pound sliced Swiss cheese
8 slices of dill pickle
Yellow mustard
Directions:
1. Preheat the griddle. Slice the bread loaves in half. Smear the butter on both sides of each loaf of bread.
2. Build each sandwich with the sliced turkey, turkey bacon, cheese, mustard, and pickles (each sandwich gets 2 pickles).
3. Place the sandwiches on the hot griddle and place a heavy pan or pot on top of the sandwiches to flatten the sandwich.
4. Griddle the sandwiches for 3-4 minutes on each side. Slice the sandwich in half and serve.
*Chef Lovely Tip – You can also use sliced chicken (deli style). This sandwich goes well with kettle cooked chips, cole slaw, or even potato salad.
