The consensus among plus size women is there aren’t enough plus size clothing designers, retailers or companies in general that cater to women over a size 14. NAAFA (National Association to Advance Fat Acceptance) has set out to create change with the announcement of their fashion scholarship.
The purpose of the $1,000.00 scholarship is to encourage student fashion designers to specialize in the design of fashions for the plus-size body. If selected, the Scholarship winner will be required to participate in the 2010 National NAAFA Convention Fashion Show on Friday, August 6, 2010 at the Westin San Francisco Hotel in Millbrae, California where you will be introduced as our Fashion Design Scholarship winner and show One (1) garment from your designs/collection.
