I’m not sure if it’s a retro, vintage or Granny look people are going after but more and more celebrities are coloring or streaking their hair grey. Seen by many during New York fashion week, it was thought to have been a temporary trend but it seems that this trend is here to stay.
Celebs and fashionistas Pink, Kate Moss and Mary Kate Olsen are among those embracing grey hair by speeding up father time and coloring their tresses. Grey Hair has also reached the Swedish fashion market. When Cheap Monday presented their autumn/winter 2010 collection at Stockholm fashion week in February most of the models had grey hair.
The process of going grey will most likely involve bleaching to lift the colour to a pale yellow and then toning with a dramatic ash grey, not a concrete grey. This concrete flat colour only happens if the toner has been left on for too long and if the hair colour hasn’t been taken care of.
During a time when 50 is the new 30, you would think 20 year olds weren’t trying to be 70.
