One of my favorite things on almost any getaway is trying the local food; many cities have walking tours of ethnic neighborhoods which include learning about the foods of that culture. Boston, Chicago, San Francisco, and New York have food tours, and New Orleans has 1/2 day cooking demonstration classes. Look for tours of the local Chinatown or Little Italy – you and your friends will have a great time!
