Drop Dead Diva Returns For A Second Season This Summer

If you’re a fan of Lifetime’s Drop Dead Diva, you will be excited to know that the show will finally return for its second season.  Complete with 13 new episodes, the new season will premiere on Sunday, June 6th at 9pm ET/PT.

You may recall that at the end of season one we met  Jane’s “secret” husband Ethan (Devon Gummersall) who showed up at her doorstep.  In season two we’ll finally find out more about this whole thing, because I for one would not only like to know how Jane ended up with Ethan, but I also have a feeling that this might create a new love triangle.

The season two opener will feature entertainer Paula Abdul (American Idol) reprising her role as “Judge Paula Abdul,” a figment of Jane’s subconscious. Devon Gummersall (My So-Called Life) and David Denman (The Office) also return as guest stars this season. The premiere episode will also feature a musical dream sequence, choreographed by So You Think You Can Dance‘s Keith “Tyce” Diorio.

And for those who haven’t yet seen the show, you will get your chance to since Lifetime will air season one of Drop Dead Diva again beginning April 11 at 11pm ET/PT and 12am ET/PT through May 23. Additionally, on Sunday, May 30, Lifetime will air an all-day marathon of the first season of Drop Dead Diva from 10am to 11pm ET/PT.

ABOUT DROP DEAD DIVA
In the first season of Drop Dead Diva, beautiful-but-vapid model wannabe Deb, suddenly finds herself in front of Heaven’s gatekeeper, Fred (Ben Feldman), following a fatal car crash. Outraged by her sudden demise, she attempts to persuade Fred to return her to her shallow existence but is accidentally relegated to the body of the recently deceased Jane Bingum (Brooke Elliott). An intelligent, thoughtful and plus-size attorney with a loyal assistant, Teri (Margaret Cho), Jane has always lived in the shadow of her colleagues whereas Deb has always relied on her external beauty. By a twist of fate and a bolt of divine intervention, Deb must come to terms with inhabiting Jane’s curvier frame and learn to reconcile her beauty queen ways with her brilliant, new mind.

It’s a cute show. I started watching it here but then it conflicted with the Good Wife and since I was already invested in that it won out. I hate it when some shows are only on at one day and time while others it seems like they are one ten times in one night.
