Essence Music Festival Has A SuperStar LineUp

The Essence Music Festival is the nation’s largest annual gathering of African-American musical talent featuring an unprecedented three days of cultural celebrations and ESSENCE Empowerment Seminars and three nights of musical performances. Planning for this years event which takes July 2-4 in New Orleans is already under way.

One of the biggest yearly outdoor events displaying the talents or R&B superstars, the Essence Music Festival, has just announced new artists to perform during it’s 2010 show. The new names announced include Trey Songz, Joe & Alicka Keys, who is co-headlining the event with Mary J. Blige.

Alicia Keys and Trey Songz will be on the main stage along with Earth, Wind & Fire, Keri Hilson, Gladys Knight, Jill Scott, LL Cool J, Monica, Raphael Saadiq, Charlie Wilson, DJ Soul Sister & other well known artists.

R & B singer Joe will perform in the Super Lounge with already confirmed artists Lalah Hathaway, Melanie Fiona, Laura Izibor, Chrisette Michele, De La Soul, Mary Mary and so many other extraordinary artists.

In addition to having a very impressive R&B/Soul lineup, there are speakers, seminars and discussions during the weekend that not only engage those attending but give spectators something to think about and knowledge to take home with them.

On the opening day (July 2nd) there is the Women’s Celebration: Steve Harvey’s Love & Relationships Super Fest. This fest features speakers Steve Harvey, Sherri Shepherd, Hill Harper, Rodney & Holly Robinson Peete & others.

Day two (July 3rd) is the African American Education Summit: Empowering Parents, Motivating Students, Closing the Gap and Fulfilling the Dream. The Summit features Bill Cosby, Kym Worthy, Reverend Al Sharpton and more prominent individuals in the education and judicial system.

Bringing the weekend to a close is Day three (July 4th) is the All Star Gospel Salute to Kirk Franklin, Pastor Shirley Caesar and Bishop Paul and Pastor Debra Morton.
