Whether you’re celebrating Valentine’s Day or a special date with your significant other, cooking a romantic dinner can be a great way to show you care. Preparing a fancy dinner can take time and planning, but it can also be a lot of fun. You’ll need to design your own menu and decorate the table to create the right ambiance.
Try this delicious Beef and Penne dish from Chef Lovely.
Beef and Penne
Ingredients
1 ½ pounds of flank steak
1 pound of penne pasta
1 C watercress or spinach
1 C mushrooms, sliced
2 Tbsp fresh chopped parsley
1 Tbsp fresh thyme
¼ C Parmesan cheese
Juice of half a lemon
2 Tbsp butter
2 Tbsp Olive oil
Salt and pepper
Procedure
- Cook penne by following the directions on the box, drain and set aside.
- Season your steak with some salt and pepper. In a large sauté pan on medium high heat add 1 tablespoon of olive oil and 1 tablespoon of butter.
- Cook steak until desired doneness. Set aside. Slice into mouth size pieces.
- In the same sauté pan, add another tablespoon of olive oil and sauté the mushrooms with the thyme for 3-5 minutes. Season the mushrooms with salt and pepper.
- To that pan add the watercress, steak, and penne. Toss together and cook for another 2-3 minutes.
- Turn off the heat and add the parsley, lemon juice, 1 tablespoon butter, parmesan cheese, and season with salt and pepper.
- Mix together and serve!
