Every time a new gadget comes out we get excited and feel like we have to get it…..NOW!! The Apple IPad is no different. Described as a revolutionary device the Apple Ipad is good for many things. It’s great for browsing the web, reading and sending email, enjoying photos, watching videos, listening to music, playing games, reading e-books and much more.
Unfortunately, you can’t please everyone and it’s important to make an informed decision. Here are the Pros & Cons of this new toy.
PROS
Powerful alternative for people who need something more than an iPhone or iPod touch and less than a laptop. I use my iPod for a lot of things. And I use my laptop for even more things. Some feel like the iPad falls right in the middle. It may be easy to use at my desk and also on the couch. Not a bad option. I like knowing there’s something in between.
The App Store. iPad will run almost 140,000 apps from the App Store. And there’s a section of the App Store that focuses on apps designed just for the iPad.
Size. iPad is just 0.5 inches thick and weighs just 1.5 pounds– thinner and lighter than any laptop or netbook.
CONS
The Name. Of all the names that could have been used, someone went for the easy route. There is no wow factor and it seems like Apple didn’t care about the name.
No Camera. A camera would have made this thing amazing. Nothing major just something to take pictures of yourself with. Something of this magnitude should have a camera on it.
When Available. The iPad will be available in late March which is after my birthday so their timing is slightly off.
