Go To Your Room! Takes On A New Meaning

How many times have you either heard parents say or said yourself, “They just grow up too fast.” Many parents feel the pangs of seeing their kids grow from babies to adults in what seems like record time. While many parents may have trouble letting go, Michelle Rohrer-Lauer from Michelle’s Interiors Design Group has design ideas that allow kids to grow but still be kids.

Removable Wall Decals:

While many children like to have a theme to their room that expresses their personal interests. There is a fun way to incorporate the princess or sports themes for your children without having to invest in the elaborate, mural paintings. From everything from life-size sports figures decals to butterflies, these removal wall decals can be placed on any wall surface and easily removed when the child grows out of the theme.

Create a Removal Hideout:

For bunk beds or lofted beds, create a whimsical, creative hideaway for kids without having to spend a lot of money. With some fabric and Velcro, the lower level of a lofted space can be transformed into everything from a log cabin, submarine or castle with these simple fabric designs.

Look for Transitional Furniture:

Today, there is a variety of transitional furniture available for children that change with the child. For example, transitional cribs can be transformed to a toddler bed, and then to a full-sized bed. Window seat areas can also be a great transitional space by incorporating a pull-out sleepover bed or small chairs for a reading area.
