There are times when you’re shopping and you pick up a dress and say to yourself “this will not work for me!” Well I give this advice to ladies; think twice before putting it down. Think about the whole outfit and say what can I put with it to give it some WOW appeal.
Today my assignment is to pick something really out of the ordinary and something that I probably would pass on if I saw it in person.
I started with the Here To Win from Great Glam. The elastic band waist features gathering at the crisp front panel. A subtle pin stripe and pockets at the hips of the color accenting skirt creates a flattering design. If you don’t like the dress or think it’s too plain, here are some tips to help you out.
1) Shoes make any dress pop: Try a different color shoe or boot and see if it works.
I picked the Suede Zipper High Heel Boot from Go Jane. The high heel closed toe boot features multiple bootstraps with functional zipper trim. The Heel height is 4.5 inches. I like how the zippers have that gray sheen so it does match the dress.
2) Go with a cover-up: A jacket or even a sweater makes a difference to a dress or a shirt that you may not like.
I paired the dress with a sweater I found from Alloy. This red sweater goes well with the shoes and it gives it some flavor in my opinion. The V-NECK CARDIGAN is a sweater with three-quarter sleeves and it goes up to size 3X.
3) When in doubt accessorize: Necklaces, bracelets, earrings and rings will do the trick.
I finished it off with earrings from Forever 21. The Chain Linked Feather Earrings are a perfect fit and the Leafy Strands Necklace finishes the look. I went with simple earrings and necklace because the red boot and sweater stand out.
Are you the type to take a second look and then buy? What do you think? Would you wear this look?
