Queen Latifah has signed on to host the 36th People’s Choice Award Show which airs on January 6, 2010.
Academy award-nominated actress and Grammy award-winning singer Queen Latifah returns to host the People’s Choice Awards for the fourth consecutive year. Since her last appearance, Queen Latifah has released a new album, Persona, loaned her voice to the animated film, Ice Age: Dawn of the Dinosaurs, produced and starred in the soon to be released Fox Searchlight romantic comedy, Just Wright and wrapped production on the film Valentine’s Day.
The show which honors the work in television, movie and music are voted on by fans. Mark Burnett, Producer of the show stated, “Queen Latifah’s presence ensures that we deliver the type of show the fans truly want and deserve.”
PEOPLE’S CHOICE AWARDS 2010 will be broadcast live from its new home, Nokia Theatre in downtown Los Angeles adjacent to STAPLES Center. The theatre offers state-of-the art acoustics and amenities, customized for television production and live events. Home to such celebrated events as the American Idol finale, L.A. LIVE provides the People’s Choice Awards guests, nominees, host and production team with a one-of-a-kind, active and all encompassing ‘campus’ to celebrate the fans.
