So far 2010 is looking to be a great year for plus size models. From Glamour, Marie Claire and Brigette Magazines agreeing to feature plus size women, you can now add V magazine to this list of publications willing to embrace our curves.
After pushing the envelope by featuring models in blackface, V Magazine’s first installment of the year will feature plus size models. “Big, little, pint-sized, plus size–everybody is beautiful. And this issue is out to prove it,” V editor Stephen Gen said. Models which include Crystal Renn will be shown clothed and nude in photos shot by Karl Lagerfeld and others.
Although V Magazine will not include lifestyle issues and advice columns, I am very curious to see how their interpretation of plus size models looks and is received.
Do you think V Magazine is another publication attempting to capitalize on the most recent attention given to women with curves?
