The other day I was in Lower Manhattan and I noticed many ladies wearing two toned riding boots. I thought to myself, “very low-key and stylish”. The bummer is if you a have very wide ankles as myself, it may not slip on as easily and you get that bunched up look in the middle, but if they work out, good for you! I actually found three versions, which can fit into anyone’s budget.
The Selina Two-Tone Riding Boot are crafted in Italy from richly supple calfskin and accented with gleaming hardware for a modern equestrian look. This look retails for $669.00 and it’s sold on the Ralph Lauren site.
The Aigel Jumping Boots from JCrew features a soft, absorbent (and quick-drying) Cambrelle® lining and an interior leather collar for a snug fit. Completely comfortable, effortlessly elegant (no polishing required) and supremely durable. This is sold on their JCrew Site for $199.00.
The last style is a great steal and it’s less than the two I mentioned above, is The Classic Flat Boots from Charlotte Russe features a matte faux leather, round toe, rounded cuff, 1″ chunky heel, and a lightly padded insole. 16 1/2″ shaft. Faux leather upper and rubber sole. The best part, it’s $34.99.
I’m thinking a ruffle shirt and some khaki pants to complete the look?
Do you love it or hate it? Let me know!

Have you checked out Silhouettes.com? They have a lot of boots with larger shafts. I found one pair that is two-toned, though it’s a little different than the others you picked out.

Also, have you heard of the Ralph Lauren boycott? There is a growing movement — started by the America the Beautiful documentarian Darryl Roberts — to boycott the brand because of their unscrupulous use of horribly thin photoshopped models. You can learn more about the boycott on Facebook http://www.facebook.com/BoycottRalph but in the mean time, I would encourage you to avoid promoting Ralph Lauren products until they are ready to admit culpability and start using realistic images in their advertising.
Hey Michelle,
Thanks for the heads up on the boots on silhouettes website, those are beautiful. And thanks for the information regarding the Ralph Lauren boycott. We will keep that in mind for future posts.
No problem! And by the way, I just recently discovered your site, and I love the name! Maybe we can collaborate sometime.
Maybe, submit any ideas you have to us.
