Plus size women are being embraced all over the world and it feels good. We’ve reported reality shows debuting in the Caribbean and boutiques opening in Canada all for the love of Curves. Now add Singapore to this list of empowering events happening around the globe.
In 8 more days, Singapore’s online shopping store Big-n-Beautiful will kick off their inaugural fashion show, “Grand et Beau” featuring plus size women. “Grand et Beau” which means Big and Beautiful in French was picked as the name for a reason. “Since we are featuring corsets and more haute couture gowns and dresses for this fashion show, why not give it a french name,” it stated on their website.
With over 200 models and personnel involved tickets are going fast, they only have 40 tickets left. The models ranging in sizes 1x to 6x will model wedding gowns, lingerie and more. As an added bonus guests will be able to view photos taken at their rehearsals as they mingle before the fashion show. Immediately following the fashion show there is a “Dance & Booze Celebration” as they call it. They’re sponsoring a lucky draw giveaway where attendees have a chance to win 1 of 10 prizes. The prizes include shopping gift certificates, jewelry, facial makeovers and more.
The event that takes place at Club Seven sounds like the thing to do in Singapore next weekend. If only I could get there but if you’re in Singapore and are looking for something to do, you should definitely check this out.
