That’s right ladies, a model isn’t just a pretty face but a woman who uses her grace and talents to inspire others. With that in mind, Daily Venus Diva has picked some extraordinary women as nominees for our Venus Diva: Model of the Year.

This Brazilian plus-size model Fluvia, is considered one of the most beautiful faces in plus size modeling. You’ve probably seen her over at Igigi, Glamour, Fashion Bug, and more.
Mia Amber Davis
This woman wears many hats but as a model Mia Amber has also worked with Richard Metzger, Monif C., Queen Latifah for Curvation, Abby Z., Lane Bryant and many many others. Mia has graced the covers and pages of numerous magazines and has appeared on countless television shows.
Lisa Scott
Native New Yorker, Lisa Scott, is living the career most aspiring models only dream of. Lisa has graced the pages of numerous magazines such as Essence, Bell and Mode. With countless TV appearances and years of experience behind her, she still possesses the freshness clients are always looking for.
Maggie Brown
Maggie Brown is an Asian-American plus-size fashion model, host and actress. Maggie Brown (aka MaggieB) got her big break when, in November 2006, she won “Tyra’s Thick and Sexy Top Model Contest” on The Tyra Banks Show. Since winning the Thick and Sexy Top Model contest, she has signed with Wilhelmina models and has appeared on various television broadcasts.
Crystal Renn
This plus-sized model and the author of the 2009 book Hungry is possibly the highest paid Plus Model. After recovering from a eating disorder, Renn became content with her healthy size 12 body and has been featured in Vogue and in runway shows for Dolce & Gabbana.

I see some models featured with NY agencies are also with agencies in the Northwest (Seattle). How can you be represented in two different cities so spread out NYCity and Seattle. I assumed an agency will not represent you unless you live in one area. I needed to return to the Northwest from NY but missed being represented by my agency there. I just did not expect any work from my NY agency unless I lived there, yet I see some women with other agencies throughout the country and only live in NY or somewhere else. I just want to know how this works and how I can broaden your representation better if you wish to live in one area. Will they often fly you to work?
