After exposing nude plus models in two separate issues, Glamour Magazine has decided to keep the plus models but put clothing on them. Editor Cindi Leive recently stated, “We’ve shot stories for every issue from now through February using fabulous plus-size models, and not just in our feature shoots, but also in fashion and beauty”. She continued “One of the plus-size models who was featured in our original story is in one of our two major fashion features in December, and looks amazing”.
Thoughts Divas?

I think this is a just another step in a very positive direction!
While I applaud the usage of plus sized models in Glamour, I have to wonder why you will only show them clothed? I found NOTHING objectionable in the picture represented here.
I have FREQUENTLY found some of the images presented of some of your “normal” models objectionable, but recognize your right to protray them. I personally prefer the softness and curviness of the “plus sized” models to the gaunt boniness of some of the models that you display with impunity.
Don’t let your own prejudices cloud your judgment on this issue. Granted, our society has allowed size acceptance to be the last allowable prejudice. But as a fashion setter, YOU should be rising above this.
Acceptance of beauty in ALL sizes is key to the self esteem of ALL your readers. Let’s embrace diversity, and what will follow will be healthier and happier for ALL of us.
